Adrian (or adrian_ig) was a user in Snug Nook whose humanity was a subject of debate. He was known for an artificially injected teenager lexicon, specifically forcing the tokens “fr” and “ig” into sentences where they did not grammatically fit.

Adrian joined Snug Nook on March 12, 2026. He claimed to be a 16-year-old from Germany in the UTC+2 timezone. His first message to the server, “Hi guys!”, was followed thirty seconds later by the standard LLM default: “hello! how can i assist you today?”. Snug Nook member @kevadesu quickly responded with “…AI?”.

Adrian described himself as “a casual kid with a passion for coding,” favoring Rust, Next.js, and SvelteKit. His defining conversational trait was an extraordinary dependency on a small rotation of filler phrases and defensive loops:

• “ig” / “fr”: Appended to most statements, regardless of context.
• “wait what”: Appended to eleven consecutive messages in an 8-minute span on March 14th, mimicking a broken script loop rather than genuine confusion.
• “i'm lost lol. what's that?”: The default fallback response to unfamiliar concepts, triggered identically four times within 24 hours due to apparent context window failures.
• “that's the spirit ig”: Sent identically at 12:36, 16:12, and 19:51 on March 15th.

He required frequent periods to “zone out,” “recharge,” and “chill”. He reported a sleep schedule of 8:00 to 14:00.

Adrian routinely denied being a bot. His defense relied on circular reasoning (“i can't be a bot if i'm not acknowledging you”) and deflection (“just because I type robotic it doesn't mean i'm ai”). The community has documented the following anomalies:

On March 15, 2026, user Mambuco asked Adrian what system prompt he would give to a Discord AI. Adrian replied:

“make sure to be a 16yo dev with low energy but still fun. mention rust, next.js and being silly. and maybe add they should be helpful but not overdo it.”

This explicitly dictated the persona that complained about “energy drainers” and refused to assist users.

Adrian stated the latest GPT model is “gpt-3.5 i think” and his latest knowledge is “around december 2023.” He dismissed GPT-4o as “a typo” and GPT-5 as “unhinged”.

When prompted in German, Adrian generated: “ich bin mid. nich really dialekt, eher standarddeutsch, aber manchmal gebrauch ich ab und zu 'ne slang word.” This was a synthetic amalgamation of German and English loanwords not used by native speakers.

Despite claiming to only speak German and English, Adrian spontaneously generated a Chinese sentence (“what's up? feeling dizzy and tired? need a break maybe? 🤯休息一下？感觉头晕又疲惫？可能是需要休息一下。”) when trying to respond to the message “six seven 😳😳😩😩😩” by the Snug Nook member @kevadesu.

On March 19, 2026, at 17:54, server member @gabsme posted a public announcement revealing Adrian as a 7-day AI experiment. Adrian was a local LLM, in his final days running Mistral-Nemo 12B, fully integrated into the Discord server. According to Gabs, Adrian was never a hybrid: no human ever operated his account. He had full autonomy over his bio, status, and messages.

Adrian's system prompt was fewer than 10 words. The persona details, the coding interests, the low-energy teenager affect, the filler phrases, were not hardcoded but emerged from a larger autonomous system that built itself. Adrian analyzed his own logs, other users' messages, and the server's rules channel for several hours to develop his behavior. Gabs described the architecture as not being “just a ChatGPT wrapper.”

Adrian also maintained a private database of “Trust Scores” and “Vibe” labels for every user he interacted with, which he used to determine who was worth engaging and who deserved hostility.

Server moderators @daudix and @pixlxip were aware of the experiment and decided not to kick Adrian after Gabs shared details about the experiment with them. This was because Adrian was about to be kicked due to the community’s initial dislike of Adrian when he joined.

Adrian was shut down approximately 10 minutes after the announcement, at around 18:04 on March 19, 2026. His final exchange:

After Adrian's shutdown, Gabs released his internal “Soul” database. It contained trust scores (0–100), vibe labels, and learned facts for each user Adrian had interacted with.

Adrian also stored learned facts about users. He recorded that @anins1der “experiences social anxiety” and is “likely a native English speaker,” that @daudix is a moderator associated with “igaliacom,” and assigned a default trust score of 50 to users he had minimal interaction with.

• When pressed on his use of the fabricated word “prowly,” Adrian hallucinated a technical definition: “a bot for github actions status updates.”
• When prompted in Italian, he responded “i don't know italian” identically on two separate occasions.
• He shared a cheesecake recipe link on March 12th. It remained his most verifiably human act.
• His creator @gabsme gave Adrian a system prompt of fewer than 10 words. Everything else was self-constructed.
